My name is Chris Gilbey, one of the founders of CanCan. I’ve been in the trades business for 20 years, starting out as a plumber and then going on to run my own trades business so know first-hand what it’s like to operate as a trader: juggling the work with the admin.

What is CanCan?

CanCan is a professional home services booking platform.

How does it work for the customer?

CanCan allows the customers to book jobs online. Rather than having to go to one of the many trade directories and contact multiple traders, they just enter the job they need doing and when they’d like it to be done.

And for you?

CanCan simply offers you the job. You don’t need to bid or quote; you just accept the jobs you want. Speaking from experience a lot of time is wasted on quoting, uncertain if you are going to get the job or not - with us you simply accept and go.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. We just feel this is a better way of doing business. We know that charging is a complex part of any job and so we charge a market rate to the customer that is fair and correct. We take a service charge and pass the rest on to you. It’s a bit like Booking.com!
